The event is aimed primarily at startups in the pre-seed to founding stages. The presentation is divided into two parts.
Part 1: Trademarks, Designs, Copyright, Patents
Intellectual property (IP) rights are often crucial to the long-term success of startups. They can not only protect against copycats but also increase the company’s value. When managed correctly, IP creates a competitive advantage. Conversely, mistakes made regarding intellectual property during a startup’s early stages can lead to serious legal problems—even years later—that may threaten the company’s very existence. It is therefore vital for startups to address the topic of IP as early as possible in order to identify opportunities and avoid risks.
Part 2: IP & AI
The ubiquitous use of artificial intelligence introduces further uncertainty into a field that is already complex for non-experts. Who “owns” AI-generated content, and what legal risks must be considered when using it? Can I take action against third parties appropriating “my” AI-generated content? When am I required to label content as AI-generated?
